Windows 7 Locking Folders.

In windows 7 is there a way to lock a folder with a passcode effectively? and also is there also a way to compress a folder so it will take less space on your hard drive as well? 

Truecrypt containers should work fine for protecting data with a password.

 

winrar/winzip/7zip, compress data and can also password protect the archive
