"Open command window here" option not available - Windows 7

I'm trying to create a full backup of my phone before I start trying out some custom roms (I have the Galaxy Note 3 with Verizon) following this guide: http://www.howtogeek.com/125375/how-to-create-a-full-android-phone-or-tablet-backup-without-rooting-or-unlocking-your-device/

I know the article is rather dated (2.5 years now), but it still appears to apply. The option to "Open command window here" option is simply not available, even when I shift+right click as instructed. If anyone could guide me to enabling this option, or simply a better alternative to a FULL backup to my desktop. Thanks in advance to everyone!

Its hidden by default, in fact it has been since XP. Heres how to reenable it. Note you will need to reboot when all done

1. Type regedit in RUN or Start Menu search box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor.

2. Now go to following keys one by one:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\cmd

3. In right-side pane, you'll get a String value Extended. Delete it and the option will get enabled permanently in folders as well as drives context menus.

PS: If you want to enable this option in Desktop context menu as well, follow the same steps for following key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\cmd

Now you'll always get "Open Command Window Here" option in context menu and you'll not need to press SHIFT key any more.

There is no "cmd" subfolder within that string. I've looked for this after minor research on the internet. Also, the option is not there when shift+right click-ing. The feature is not available at all when clicking on the file I need to open.

That's the only account that exists. I'm the only user on my computer, full admin rights.

have you tried manually opening it with command prompt?

open command prompt as an administrator and type in the application path to wherever this program is (C:\MyApp\App.exe)

It doesn't pause. When you run the application through cmd or by clicking it, the app opens a command window, runs through some commands, then closes. It doesn't pause for me to enter my required commands.

no dont write the app just example: C:\myapp\

Please just stop replying to this thread, your input is negatively impacting my outcome more so than it is helping. I'm very easily understanding Firearm, as his replies actually make sense in regards to the topic, while yours are trailing behind. I know what he meant when he put that path, and I instead used the path to the parent folder the application I'm trying to run resides in. I knew his path was an example and not the real path. Again, I respectfully ask you to discontinue your replies.
