Does a persistent RAMdisk affect boot times much?

Solved by Elven,
yup, it does. It depends on how large the RAM disk is. Essentially, what you have to take into account, is that RAM is volatile. It is wiped clean when the computer shuts down. Therefore, the data needs to be stored on a permanent data store. Everytime you boot up and shut down this procedure repeats itself. Increasing boot times and shutting down times. The larger the RAM disk, the longer it takes.
I would imagine it would be a lot quicker storing directly from an SSD, than a mechanical hard drive. Nevertheless, the boot times would be noticeably increased.
