AVR/UPS suggestions please

DigitalHermit

Hey there...

I'm preparing to up my rig to a dual monitor setup... I already have the necessary display adapters... what's next is should be a monitor, but then I noticed my AVR...

It's a measly generic 500W one... Any suggestions on a cheap-ish yet decent AVR/UPS that is at least 600W 700W? Budget is ~50USD, but absolute max is ~70USD...

I'm looking at ones from Omni and Zebra right now... It must operate at 220V... 110V outputs are optional...

Thanks,

Hermit

I suggest getting one of a fairly good quality since those two brands I've never heard of here in North America. I would suggest something like a Cyberpower or Tripplite if budget is of concern but here most UPS that are of 600W or 1000VA are around $100-$150. In most cases your setup won't be drawing your PSU's max voltage so getting a UPS larger than your PSU is not necessary in most cases.

Also when picking out a UPS be sure to get one that is either a Pure sinewave or simulated sinewave to ensure the best power to your PSU since some are still square sinewave UPS's may cause extra stress on your PSU or make it turn off thinking it's receiving bad power in some rare instances.

Unfortunately I can't come up with the 100USD that is warranted... also those brands are unavailable at my location... Zebra is has good quality (even though they have crap packaging, I'm using their power strip with line filter and surge protector) and is even used in industrial setups... Omni is cheaper but lower quality... It'll do as advertised, but that's it... Akari is also an option but they're the same as Omni ones... beneath them are the generic ones...

Oh those are voltage regulators to smooth out ripple in power, the ones I was recommending are UPS's since they are much more common here, those also give a backup battery supply for a certain amount of time during power outages.

I'm not too familiar Voltage regulators especially with those brands since we don't have them here but for those you want to ensure you never exceed it or your equipment will shutdown due to a lack of power provided by the voltage regulator. Here we have those also and they do cost a lot less than a UPS of the same power output:
