Looking for a new TV

Need some help on choosing a TV cause there are so many options out there its ridiculous!

 

Some info:

Country: Belgium (21% tax)

Budget: 500-1000 euro

Seize: 48-50 inch

Screen tech: LED / Plasma

4K: Not needed but is an option

Smart tv: yes but with an os that actually doesnt suck!

 

Gimme some insights and examples

I'm too much of a Samsung slag to recommend anything else.. soo the most expensive Samsung you can afford is the best ha.

I'd only get an led TV, a fully led one at that, side lit ones tend to give an odd glow at the sides on dark scenes
