Hello

I just built my first pc and my usb motherboard ports are not working. The ps2 ports works but not the usb ports. I have a keyboard and mouse that are usb and they are not working. My motherboard is the M5A97 R2.0 from asus. I was downloading the drivers and then suddenly the usb ports stopped working. What should I do? The keyboard stop working when the windows loading screen starts on windows 7.

re

How do i fix that?

Reinstall the mobo . disassemble it. discharge your self and do it again . put something non conductor between screws and mobo so they don't touch when tied up .

Motherboard is likely DOA. USB 2.0 should be working 100% without drivers, and most of the time USB 3.0 works out of the box too. Also, seeing as both the front panel connectors and the rear I/O are both not working, it is probably a dead component on the motherboard caused by either ESD or manufacturing error. I'd try RMA'ing it if I were you.
