So, I recently built a gaming rig. Put it all together installed all the drivers, everything worked. I decided to update from windows 8 to windows 8.1. It did it's thing and when it restarted a message appeared reading install a new turbo LAN driver for your new OS. So I thought, "easy enough". I went on to my lap top plugged in my usb and went to the asus website where I had previously downloaded all the other drivers. Including the previously working LAN driver. I downloaded the 8.1 version onto my usb and then extracted it onto my desktop. Installed the driver, but every time I troubleshoot a message appears reading "windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter you will need to install the driver." I've re-downloaded, uninstalled and re-installed the driver multiple times and still nothing. Also ethernet controller and sm bus controller are in other devices with yellow triangles and exclamations points in the triangles when I look at device manager.

What motherboard do you have?

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

On that page, under "LAN" there is a option called "Intel® Gigabit Ethernet Driver V19.1.51.0 for Windows 7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL)"

That is the driver you're looking for.

Just as a side note, when you did the "upgrade" to Windows 8.1 all it did was download the ISO for Windows 8.1, then virtually mounted it and installed the OS again. Basically its starting back from step one. Except its janky as hell.

My suggestion, get a Windows 8.1 ISO and do a clean install from there. If you need help obtaining a Windows 8.1 ISO send me a PM on LTT and Ill give you a way to get a legit ISO directly from Microsoft.

P.S. your post from a few days ago, the guys told you very wrong when it comes to installing stuff from zipped files. You always want to unzip them, then install the driver from the unzipped folder. Windows only virtually "unzips" the files in the current directory. So if you have any folders inside of the zip file, those folders are often not unzipped which causes errors with the actual install.
