New PC won't boot up

Go to solution Solved by underscoreMino,

Ok, I fixed it...

The power button on the case was poorly wired and was always pressed, so it started immidietly and then shut it self off (long pw bttn press).

If anyone experiences any sort of these problems, unplug the power button of the case and use a screwdriver to power it on (just place it between those 2 pins, which were connecting the mobo and the power button)...

I was using the power button even on the naked rig for comfort and didn't realise it was causing the trouble...

I built this computer today. I was so excited, booted it up for the first time, fans started spinning and... shut down. I know there are a lot of posts like this, but no solution has worked for me. (checked PSU - paperclip method -> works; checked running with 1 stick of ram only in the right spot - doesn't work; also tried removing the battery from the mobo, no change; moved the CMOS jumper; checked the CPU for mechanical fuck ups, nothing...)

I have tried almost everything that seemed to work for everyone else, my cables are also plugged in correctly (triple-checked..)

When I let power from the PSU in, the fans start spinning for about 3 seconds and then suddenly stop (the PSU fan continues to spin). This happens before pressing the power button on the case, which doesn't seem to have any effect. There are several leds on the mobo. When I power the PC, the led that indicates power coming from the PSU starts and doesn't die after the fans stop spinning. Just after the start, another led, which, according to the manual, indicates a CPU problem starts shining. It stops about a second later and is followed by a DRAM led problem diod lighting up and suddenly stopping with the fans at the same time.

My guess is that the mobo is the bad guy over here, but I am just a beginner at building computers. Am I right? Is it the mobo or something else?

Have you pressed the "Start" button on your Mobo to get to BIOS?
