Video Editing - Storage Solution (~$800)

Hi there,

I'm building a new computer for my job, I know what i'll buy but the storage possibilities drives me crazy at the moment.

I'm a young freelance video editor using : Premiere Pro, After Effects, DavinciResolve, 3D stuffs soon. I do work with uncompressed video files 30% time.

My budget is ~700€ (~$800) for the whole storage system.

My actual idea is that :

C:/ 1 SSD 850pro 256 GB (System)

D:/ 1 SSD 850evo 500 GB (Current project)

E:/ 2 WD Red 2 TB in Raid1 (2x2tb) (Projects pending, personnal stuffs like movie, music etc.)

F:/ 1 WD Blue 250 GB (Scratch files & cache)

G:/ 1 WD Blue 250 GB (Final renders)

Maybe use D:/ as scratch files & cache too ?

The fact is i dont even know if this is correct or not. I did a lot of researchs and everyone has a different way to organize that. There is no benchmark, Adobe never explained how to manage this, and my professionnals friends are worse than me on that subject. My life sucks !

If you guys have ideas or personnal experience, I would be grateful. Thank you for reading with my poor english skills !

OS/Program: 1 SSD 850evo 500GB

Operative Project: 1 WD Black 1TB

Storage (Post project space): WD Blue as many as your budget can handle.

After all is the CPU/GPU does most of the works.

Hmm, your solution is not faster and is way much more dangerous in case of trouble. If i was working on 25mb/s files i'll say ok but seems like you didn't read the post Alibaladin...

$800. The most cost efficient way of doing your freelance storage. Trouble is when your business balance sheet is red.
