Keyboard Mouse Latency Question

Hello,

 

I just bought a new monitor for gaming and I have a bit of a noob question..

 

My monitor is BenQ XL2420Z. Is it okay to plug my keyboard USB into the monitor instead of the actual computer? Will this cause latency while gaming? Also, if I plug my mouse into the keyboard, will that cause latency?

 

Ideally, I would plug my mouse into the keyboard and my keyboard into the monitor but I don't know if this will cause lag/latency.

 

Please enlighten me!

Maybe, probably not, but it could. Since you already have all the hardware, why don't you try it out?

I will try both options but the difference might be very minimal. I'm a humble gaming enthusiast so of course I want that extra millisecond if it's available
