I upgraded my second rig from a fx 4100 to a fx 6300 and now it doesn't boot, sometimes I manage to log in to windows but then it reboots and keeps looping. I checked the temps in the BIOS and they seem to be fine, my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-78lmt and the psu is a evga 500w bronze certified.

Terve!

If you haven't done that: try to reset the BIOS, just in case.
Otherwise I recommend using some kind of an old HDD, should you have one and put a fresh Windows there.

You don't have to activate it, so you will not need an other key.

If it boots with the fresh OS, I guess you have some kind of issue in your Windows.

Also, it would be nice to know what kind of loop you have.

A bluescreen? a straigtup shutdown?

Different types of problems, can indicate different parts.

Sayonara!

I have the latest f4 bios

Sorry dude, please specifiy which version of the 78LMT you have, there is a S2P and a USB3 version of this MB

Checking Gigabyte website the USB3 version has support for vishera (6300 included) since F3 stock BIOS AND does NOT offer a F4 Bios update

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4305

Checking the same website for the S2P version, it offers you a Bios upgrade (F5a) which will support the NEWEST bulldozer cpu´s like 6200 and adds support for the new vishera 8300

http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3833

But please double check because the 6300 is not listed in this second MB version i mention, i guess it could work with the F5a BIOS, the 8300 is the same architecture (vishera), so please clarify you have the latest bios first.
