Hey, this is my first time on these forums, so sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I'll get to the point. I wanna buy a laptop that I can do normal stuff on, but I also will be using it quite a bit for gaming, and I wanna get above at least 30 FPS on medium to high settings on basically every game, except maybe a few games like Crysis 3. I also am on a pretty tight budget, I can only pay $800-$900. I don't know too much about computer hardware, but this is the best laptop I could find for this price: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y410p/index.html

I would like to know if there is anything bad on this computer that I'm missing, or if there any better deals than this. Thanks!

The bare bone Dell 17R laptop is full 1080P 8GB DDR3 I5 duel core and an Nvidia 650M with 2GB GDDR5. Best for $900 I believe.

Laptops usually don't offer the same customizability of a desktop, so I don't think you're going to be able to find something with an slower CPU and faster GPU.. A laptop 4700MQ/750M/8 GB@1600 for $800 is a pretty good deal..

(I'm gonna look around for some others, but I don't think you're going to get a Haswell i7 and a GTX 760M or 765M for the same price as that)

AJAlien, did you look at the laptop that he linked? It has a Haswel i7 and a GT 750M, which will be a lot better than an Ivy Bridge i5 and a GT 650M.. Just sayin'

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

Thanks guys for the help, but TheRetiredSlave is right. And Dudenstein, the one I likealso has the capability to upgrade to dual 750m, so I think I'm gonna buy this one, and if in about a year or something the 750m isn't powerful enough to run the new technology of that time, I can spend about $150 more to upgrade to dual 750m.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I really don't think you can just add another 750m to the laptop as an upgrade later down the line. You have to order the SLI model when you order it.

The Y500/Y510 series can SLI a second video card via a proprietary connection by taking out the optical drive
