Hi all!

I have been out of the gaming community, and rig building game for the last 5 years.  I decided it was time to get back, so I have built a new compy.  The important specs are 2 gtx 970s in a SLI configuration. At this point you are probably thinking, yeah so... what does that have to do with this topic.  Well I am using 5 year old monitors (both old dells, 1080p), and it is time to upgrade.

I would like to go with 4 displays, three along the bottom, and one on the top center.  I am just not sure where to really start anymore.  Every time I start looking at monitor specs, and learning what they all mean, my eyes start to roll back into my head and some strange froth comes out of my mouth.  So I bow down and beg for some assistance.

My big requirements are:

  1. performance in gaming
  2. color (Amature Photographer, I spend a lot of time in post)
  3. 24 inches
  4. 1920x1200 (1080 if I must)
  5. slim bezels, the thinner the better!
  6. Price... well they should last a while so I am not so worried about it, but the better the deal the happier I feel ;).

I should also mention that I am in the US, and I am not too picky on where the monitors come from.

If you are doing any professional work... you want a pro-grade monitor, like Asus' ProArt, HP's DreamColor...

However if you aren't getting paid or just for fun, I personally LOVE the 29UB65 by LG. You only would need 2-3 for extremely large real estate.

They are great for gaming, and are pretty accurate too.

The projects never end in my line of work.

I wouldn't go that route... you get what you pay for... and while I'm sure it's a fine monitor for gaming, I'd be willing to bet color accuracy isn't where it needs to be.

It's not meant so much for gaming as color work; it has 5ms response time.  Look at the specs/reviews: (1:1000) contrast and 178 degree viewing angles

Contrast ratio and viewing angles mean almost nothing compared to gamut reproduction and accuracy of colors on the screen.

Viewing anglers are important for a surround setup, but I get your point.  Since OP isn't a hardcore content creator, I'd say this probably has the best Price/performance ratio without sinking $2k on ASUS PB monitors...

He said money isn't that big a deal, so 3x LG Ultrawides would be a sweet spot, and they are pretty accurate too, as well as IPS with excellent viewing angles.

Not sure he has enough VRAM to driver those *cough* *vramgate* *cough*

They are just a bit beyond 1080p each, so I think it'd be okay, especially if games are only on 2 at a time.

bezels on between two monitors are quite annoying when gaming.  That's why people almost always go with triple monitor displays

Then he's still only at $2,000 US for 4 of them.

But VRam on 2x 970s is gonna be an issue even with normal 1080p monitors anyway with details up.

Thank you all for your input.  Those 29 inchers look sweet, but may be too big for my needs, 120" of screen Realestate would be awesome. Considering my max distance from them would be 3 feet, I just don't have the space. Yeah, I don't get paid for my photos, Just something I do to clear the mind. I'll start going through reviews on the other suggested display and see where it goes from there.

Thanks again for your input!

The U2415 would be a good fit for your requirements. 24" 1920x1200 thin bezel IPS with accurate color reproduction and excellent gaming performance. They're around $320 on Amazon US right now.
