I play a game called smite its a dx9 game and my gpu is goin full powaaah.  its at liike 60-70% usage while my processor is around the same.  its not a bottleneck because when I play dying light my gpu is at 100% and my cpu is still like 75%.  The fps cap in smite is 150 and I get like 70-90 sometimes like 120.  In large fights it dips below 60 and its anoying.  I know the gtx 970 can reck this game in the booty, so whyyyy is this happeneinng.  I have a 4570 and strix 970.  My friend has a 4770k and strix 970 and maxes it out.  I don't think the cpu difference would make that much of a difference in game, so How can i get my gpu to go full usage.

Thanks

I can help with programming and hardware.

Have you PERSONALLY (emphasis) seen it run at 100% gpu load and same video settings and the fps counter? Again, emphasis on persoanlly

Also i noticed in your specs you are running 1600x900 monitor. Might need a higher resolution to use all components of the gpu to its full potential

  • 2 weeks later...

The CPU can make that much difference, some games are more CPU bound then others. You can also have a bottleneck at you CPU even when showing 50-75% usage on the CPU. I should know, I see the same thing on some titles, and it's frustrating. Some games scale better and make better use of CPU's then others, and I REALLY hate seeing my framerate under 60 FPS while my GPU is using only 60% and my CPU is reporting the same. It's because my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU, god I can't wait to upgrade and get the hell away from this bulldozer. I know the Pile Driver improved the architecture, but I think I'm going Intel only from now on.
