The hissing in my turtle beaches has finally gotten to the point where its unbearable. I'm looking at these 3 headsets to buy. I know nothing about sound outside of surroud vs stereo, so any help is appreciated. I have this sound card/ mic amp: ASUS XONAR DG. My budget is around $150. Gaming is my priority, music is not as important to me.

If you want some really TRUE, flat response sound, Sennheiser HD280 is the one I'd recommend. It's something I use every day in the studio.

The projects never end in my line of work.

I used that Senny for a long time with on board sound and it sounded great. Got a sound card at one point and it was better, got a higher end DAC and still had more to give. I got it when it was new at almost full retail and would have said it was easily worth it but these days for the price you can get it at now It's easily one of the better headsets you can get for the price.

Will I need anymore power to push those? I'm honestly not sure if I can use these high end headsets with my $25 sound card

I've seen a lot of people online saying that would help. How's the sound on your sound card?

I use to have a zxr and for gaming it was great...everything it was just good. I ended up going with something a bit more well rounded. that Senny sounds great with onboard also so I would say try that first then see if you need a boost of any kind. May save you some money.
