Worth Upgrading?

Go to solution Solved by eVansyah,

No need for minecraft. But if there is some ssd for under 50bucks then hell yea (120/128gb).

cheapest 128s : [OEM] Samsung SSD 120GB MZ7PC128HAFU (at ~$56) :huh: i might still go for HDD

=============================================================================

@eVansyah what gpu u have ?

 integrated to CPU :mellow:

=============================================================================

1) I'd skip the acrylic window to save money or use the money for additional/better upgrades.

 i re-reviewed, and came with Dazumba DE 660 + 380W PSU (at ~$21)

=============================================================================

2) Verify that the CPU will be compatible with the motherboard. I would personally play the used parts gamble and try and get one used, this may not be for you though.

it is, Gigabyte LGA 775 and so does the Core 2 Quad

=============================================================================

3) Does this system need a videocard, or will the via chip be enough for minecraft?

oh yeah i forgot, is Zotac Geforce GT 640 1GB GDDR3 (add ~$78)

=============================================================================

and im confused with this comparison (the i3 is my laptop's), why the Core 2 Quad Memory, Graphic, and Expansion Spec not showing? :huh: :huh:

Is it worth it? Depends... For me not really for that amount, for you it might be fine. Generally the upgrades are worthy.

But let's talk about your plans first.

1) I'd skip the acrylic window to save money or use the money for additional/better upgrades.

2) Verify that the CPU will be compatible with the motherboard. I would personally play the used parts gamble and try and get one used, this may not be for you though.

3) Does this system need a videocard, or will the via chip be enough for minecraft?

@eVansyah what gpu u have ?

It looks like it might be an integrated Via chip, unless eVansyah has another video card they didn't list.

I have a similar build, The first PC my uncle built has (he gave to me to fix then keep, i did ^_^)

Core 2 duo e4400

3gb ddr2 (planned to be upgraded to 8gb)

ASUS p5E VM DO (pretty beast actually supports 8gb and pretty good cooling)

The scariest looking power supply i have ever seen that can be purchased (Cooler master 460w)

some seagate 320gb (suprised it hasnt failed lol)

I recently purchased a 5570 1gb ddr3 from a friend for like 10 bucks and its serving me well as a secondary pc i can keep in my room to play league and CS GO and do HW.

as far as i see i dont really think the core 2 duo needs to be upgraded that bad as much as maybe sticking a Motherboard powered GPU in there maybe a nvida 630 or 640 or something

Otherwise pretty nice.

Main PC |CPU - i7-6700k|GPU - R9 290x tri-x 4gb|RAM - 16gb ddr4|MOBO - MSI z170 - A PRO|HDD - WD 1TB/240gb Sandisk |PSU - 700w Raidmax

Laptop |CPU - i7 4720hq|GPU - 960m 2gb|Ram - 8gb 2x4|Model - y50-70 Touch|SSD - 240gb Patriot drive|Display - 1920x1080 IPS touch
