Can only post using memtest

Go to solution Solved by killz2much,

Fixed. A firmware update was needed for the Solid state drives to make them stable.

Hey there folks, i have a real head scratcher here.

So i just finished my build, here are the specs:

I7 4770k @ stock

Assus sabertooth z87

2 samsung 840 pro in raid0

1 ocz vertex agility

Sli 780gtx superclocked

32gb of patriot viper (4dimms)

1500w silverstone psu

Swiftech h220

Nzxt phantom 820

Alright, here's where it gets weird.

So i boots up and posts fine, i have everything plugged in and all is jolly. I set up raid 0 for the samsung drives and here is where its weird. When it reboots my screen will turn on and acts as its supposed to be doing something, however my keyboard and mouse dont turn on and the pc does NOT POST.

So obviously something is wrong, i start pulling everything to where i have 1 sdd plugged in, only mouse, keyboard power and screen and retry, this time i get power to the keyboard and mouse but still no post.

Finnally i try the built in memtest button, the computer reboots, does the memtest (everything passes the memtest) and POSTS! I go to bios and reset, computer resets and posts again, i do reset, posts again and all is good right? No, if i ever power off the system completly instead of reseting, it stops posting again. The only way to even get the bios screen to show is to memtest and then its fine again! I have since plugged everything again including the drives and the exact same thing happens.

What in the world could be causing this!

Still no dice here. I can get it to work fine if i dont setup any type of of raid. However, once i installed windows and such i tried to install the windows updates and i bsod during the updates.

On the flip side, i ran the windows memory diagnostic and.prime95 for about an hour without any problems.
