GPU Downclocking

Go to solution Solved by Darkman,

I Know that it is supposed to do that at idle, but it is happening in games too.

Do a clean reinstall of drivers and MAKE SURE overclocking software, and temp monitors are NOT running during the installation, it can fuck with the drivers. Especially MSI Afterburner, it loves to.

Hi.  My GTX 980 is locking itself to 405 MHz and I dont know why.  Any ideas?

Even in games? Usually it'll downclock itself to save power when idling

Is this at idle only?

Even in games? Usually it'll downclock itself to save power when idling

Because when you're not using it it doesn't have to work at full speed

In other words, it idles

I Know that it is supposed to do that at idle, but it is happening in games too.

Weird, reinstall drivers to see

If that doesn't work, try removing the CMOS Battery

Weird, reinstall drivers to see

It was happening yesterday too, then, when I updated the drivers, it was fixed, now it is happening again.  How do I reinstall the driver?

Download display driver uninstaller, wipe old drivers in safe mode, reinstall drivers

Where do I go to get the drivers, I just wiped the old ones.
