Hey everyone!

so Im selling my pc in a month or two. right now its mostly idling. My friend whos buying it doesnt care if its mined on, so I assume folding is more then fine.

I know everyone will say to just go ahead and fold, but what should I expect from a 7970+7950 overclocked to 1150mhz, and a I5-3570K at 4.4ghz?

then when I Go to college, It will be fx6300 with a 7970, or crossfire 7970s. is that adequate enough to earn sweet badges and bragging rights? thanks!

I mean, a badge would be pretty bad ass. hows cpu folding? because I know for mining they where essentially useless

They certainly aren't useless, but focusing on point return.

A decent gpu will give several times the ppd compared to

a decent cpu in the same tier.

haha, great minds think alike i see? :P

Well, the thing is. I made the 4p machine with bigadv in mind.

Big advanced work units specifically aimed at multi cpu

machines. But due to some bickering that project has ended

and is a thing of the past, atleast as of right now.

It depends on how you are going to tackle this, and how much

you are planning to invest etc.. but i would definitely say a

multi gpu solution is your best bet.

welp. Im going to rebuild a gaming rig soon with 7950s/7970s. they are only 80-120 each now, so it wont kill me to pick up a third one. I could run two of them then 24/7 folding, with the third one folding like 20/7, with some time for gaming

huh, thought it was earlier. Either way, it isn't relevant for anyone planning

a future build, hardly relevant for anyone who already has a build.

But i guess saying it is a thing of the past is abit premature.
