Hi, I have a GTX 970 STRIX from Asus and when I manually spin one of the fans, it doesn't make any noise (silent), but when I manually spin the second one, it makes a clicking noise...

You can hear it in that video. The fan on the right makes the noise.

Does anyone know what to do in this situation? I'm building a silent PC, so even if the clicking isn't a problem for functionality, it is an issue for silence...

Do I RMA it? Or is there a way to fix it?

Thanks a lot :).

@Zuzu

I would suggest to build your PC, power it on and get those fans running. Then see if there is any noise by gently stopping one fan at a time.

In order to get the fans spinning you may want to download MSI Afterburner and set a manual fan speed of about 40-50% because, you know, th strix is nromally 0 rpm at idle. :D

who cares...

Ok thanks :), but from what you can see in the video, do you think it will cause performance an issues (defect)? Or would it just be a bit noisier?

I can't really say. :D Try it out when it's running. A broken bearing on one fan is bad however. You can keep it running but sooner or later it will fail which is bad. :D

But don't worry, a broken bearing is a valid reason for a RMA.

who cares...
