I need to buy a laptop since im moving to Thailand from The Netherlands and cant take my normal PC with me..

Im in the process of building a house etc, but move around alot as it is, so i need to game on the go.

What laptop would suite me best, i need something i can use for 1-2 years on the go and then some years as a desktop replacement..

Needs to support min 2 screens, id prefer a 17 inch laptop, needs ssd's and all the good stuff.

Budget is 2000-4000 US

Right now im thinking of the MSI dragon edition 2

I'd suggest the MSI one aswell.

What I can tell you is that the ASUS G-Series laptops are the worst junk ever made, stay as far away from them as you can, unless you got some Penicilin laying around.

Actually, Anandtech says the Dragon Edition doesn't have adequate cooling, and a single fan is definitely not enough. I'd stay away from the MSI and go with Asus G750.

Desktop: Intel Core i7-5820K, Corsair H115i, Asus X99-Deluxe/USB 3.1, G.Skill Ripjaws4 32GB 2800MHz CL16, Zotac RTX 3070, Samsung 950 Pro 512GB in Angelbird Wings PX1, Samsung 850 EVO 1TB, 5*Seagate 12TB, Cooler Master V1200, Phanteks Enthoo Luxe, Windows 10 Pro. Phillips 328P6VUBREB, Corsair Vengeance K95 RGB Cherry MX Brown, Logitech G502 X Plus, Sennheiser HD700.

AYANEO 2S: AMD 7800U, 32GB 7500MHz, 2TB WD SN850X. Windows 11.

For absolute top-of-the-line performance, I would go with something like an Alienware 17 or 18, or the Sager NP9390 or NP8270.. Configured with roughly equal specs, they wind up being about the same price. For cooling, all of these models have dedicated cooling for the CPU and GPU, so they'll stay cool even under extreme load on both at the same time. In the case of the Alienware 18 and the NP9390, both of the GPUs also have their own dedicated cooling fans.

Also, these models will be easily upgradeable in the future when compared to things like the G750 (which, as far as I know, Asus makes their own custom GPUs instead of using the standard laptop MXM3.0 form factor).. SSDs and RAID arrays are optional from the factory, or you will be able to add them later.

Of course, these models are all solidly in the "desktop replacement" category of laptops, so you shouldn't really expect to carry them around 24/7 unless you have a giant backpack and massive shoulder muscles..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

Specs wise MSI dragon edition 2 fits what you want to do but I have heard from numerous sources like Anand that there's cooling issues.  Without adequate cooling you are going to lose performace. I'd stay clear of it until MSI figures it out. In the meantime check out Asus, maybe Alienware... just don't get the Razer Blade lol
