So usually, when I put my laptop to sleep (lenovo Z580 win 7), it would just go into its normal sleeping state with the power button/led blinking about once every second. Now, when I put it to sleep, the display turns off as well as the hard drive, but not the power led/other lights and fan. The only way to power it back on is to press the power button and when I do so, I can hear the hard drive spin up to speed, and the display turns on.

There is a power option in the advanced settings that let's me put the computer into a hybrid sleep state, that's as close as I can to get it to sleep properly, except I loose the option to put my laptop in hibernate.

Please let me know what's happening and please give me a solution!

Could it be setting to hibernate automatically or the other thing I can think of that might be causing it is an option that sets the hard drive to go to sleep after X minutes in advanced power plan options in windows.

BTW, Hi Noah welcome to the forums.
