Help choosing motherboard

Hi all,

 

I recently got the MSI Z97M-G43 Intel LGA1150 only to find that my GTX970 Galax Infinity Black edition hits the ram slots when i try to put the card into the pci slot. I have tried to find another Micro-ATX Z97 mobo that has the pci slot lower so that will fit in and haven't had any luck apart from one of the extremely small ones but i'm not sure.

 

So does anybody have any suggestions to what board i should use that will fit in the 970?

Is it not slower using secondary slot?

Its running in PCIe 3.0 8x which is the same speed as a Gen 2.0 x16 which should be enough.
