Infinite restart loop

Go to solution Solved by tmlhalo,

Intel® LGA1155 Core i3-3220

Crucial DDR3 1333MHz 8GB KIT CL9

Samsung SSD 840 Series 250GB

EVGA GeForce GTX660TI 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E

MSI B75IA-E33, Socket-1155

Samsung DVD±RW SH-224BB/BEBE SATA

Corsair CX 500M, 500W PSU

Cooler Master Elite 120 Mini-ITX

Try unplugging the DVD drive, SSD, HDD, and taking out the GPU. Switch the cable connecting it to the monitor to the motherboard's onboard graphics. If it boots slowly try adding back components one by one til you find the offending device. If it doesn't post then take out the ram and try one stick at a time. If it is only one stick then seat it in a different slot.

Hey guys! I'm trying to help my friend out with his PC, his PC tries to start, but after just a couple seconds, it shuts down again, before it starts up, going in an infinite loop.

We have tried removing the CMOS-battery, checking that the 24-pin works like it is supposed to, and we have also checked that the power button isn't an issue...

Anybody got any additonal things to try?

I'm helping him out over Skype, so its not the easiest thing ever..

We did this, and it worked! But the weird thing is that we plugged all the parts in, and in the end it worked? So now I have noooo idea what was the actual problem :P

Sounds like something was just loose in one of the slots. Knock on wood, don't question it if you know what I mean lol. Congrats on the new PC.
