Cheap Audio recorder

My younger brother's birthday is coming up so I am looking for a cheap audio recorder for him. He is using a point and shoot to record so audio recorder does not need to be great he is just learning.

No I am looking for something like the Zoom H1 but cheaper.

I was going to recommend the Zoom H1, it has excellent audio quality and can be used as a USB microphone. Cheaper than that, I'm not sure you would get anything of a high quality...
