I'm trying to figure out how to stream on twitch and not have certain audio sources broadcasted.

Like if I don't want the audio from a Youtube/ Netflix video to be heard, or if I'm chatting with people on Skype or Teamspeak and I don't want their voices heard.

I know there's a program called Virtual Audio Cables that can do it, but I haven't been able to figure out how to use it, and I haven't foud any decent explanations online.

If someone could give a simple explanation of how to use VAC or if there's another way to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You could run them as separate outputs depending on how your system is set up. A lot of streamers use mixers between the system and their headphones to allow control of volume.

It's the same kid of thing for recording multiple channels for videos.

On my setup I have 2 channels/outputs that I use, then I have them mix into a Line6 UX-1 mixing interface I bought for electric guitar years ago. One channel out "Speakers - UX-1" runs strictly game audio, whereas the other one is used for Teamspeak/etc. This rolls into streaming because you could use a program, such as DXTory, to control which audio channels are out putted to your broadcasting software and when.

This isn't the greatest explanation I'll admit (I should have been sleeping long ago!). Hopefully it gives an idea though.

VAC does the same thing I've got set up. The difference is that VAC does it through software which can be quite confusing (I tried it and never for it to work the way I hoped), and the way I did it is all hardware (very simple plug and play - costs more however if you don't have the needed equipment like audio cables/mixer/etc).

Never say it's not broken. Everything is broken. Why? Because everything needs MOAR POWA!

Yeah, I'm looking for something software based. Thanks though.
