Laptop under $800

So originally the wife wanted a 2 in 1. I convinced her against it and she now wants a laptop for her bday. Budget is 800USD (raised from 600). Mostly for just Internet, Facebook and all that everyday crap. I would like to play a couple games on it, but it's not a necessity as its hers. Would like an i5, 8gb of memory, a discrete video card (probably ain't gonna happen for the budget, but I can dream. Lol). I looked at a number of laptops at my budget, but would love to know what you guys recommend from experience. Thanks in advance
