Hello there, I want to inform you that I own a Asus VG248QE and I'm interested in purchasing the Sapphire Vapor-X 7970 Ghz edition.

I know in order to have the benefits of having 144 hz, I need to connect either the DVI-D (Dual link) or a Display Port. I contact Sapphire and they told me that the card has 2 DVI ports, one is DVI-D single link and one DVI-I dual link. The card doesn't have the dual link  DVI-D port,  I need this port to connect to my monitor  (to support 144Hz). So, my other option is display port, but Sapphire told me that the connection using display port,  will not support 144hz. What can I do? Is this true? Any opinions?

It should work properly on the DVI-I output. I can't see why AMD's flagship GPU wouldn't support 144Hz refresh rates, and I can't see why Sapphire would choose outputs that wouldn't support 144Hz.(at least for all of them)

I know for a fact that it supports 120Hz, but as for 144Hz, I don't know 100%.

Someone has done this: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1668490/set-144hz-configuration-sapphire-7970.html

According to the link, it should support it on Dual Link DVI.

Have you solved this matter before?

well dual link dvi supports 120hz and above.

as to dvi i dual link to dvi d dual link, all you need to do is use a dvi d cable.
