Hello everyone:

I want to have a dedicated server to host an Arma 3 server.  I build mods (I'm on the RHS: Escalation team), I play like crazy, I used to be in a milsim unit before I had to go to school.. etc).  I only want about 8 - 10 slots max with good performance.  My connection is fine to support this box, it will not be remotely in a data center.

Here's the catch:

Cheap.  As cheap as humanly possible.

Is it better to build something cheaply, or buy a used server for a bit?

I want to spend under $300.  I live in Ontario, Canada so if I'm going to get a used pre-built rackmount, I need it to be in Ontario for shipping.

Thoughts?

Nice, I could most likely save a bit without that case, I'm sure I can find something utterly crap and cheap on sale in a box store.

Would this have better performance than a used Xeon based 1st gen core series machine?
