Hi
I recently bought RT-N18U Asus router and I am experiencing some stability issues with the DLNA media server. I have 2 Samsung TV's that are DLNA capable but sometimes they don't see the router or they disconnect and interrupt the streaming while i am watching a movie. although on the admin page the media server is on and idle. Ex: this morning both tv's detected the router with no problems, however this afternoon the TV's did not detect it. I tried to turn on and off the media server from the admin page but this did not help, also turned on and off the tv with no result. The only thing that helped was rebooting the router. And this need to reboot seems to occur once a day once every two days. I did not have this problem when i was running a DLNA sever on my PC. (attached to the router is a SAMSUNG HM321HI external hard drive on the USB port that is on the back of the router) My main reason for purchasing this router was it's DLNA capability, so i am not happy with this lack of stability.
Are there some extra settings i can set that can improve the stability of the DLNA?

Routers in my experience are good for one thing and one thing only, routing. No matter what fancy features and wonderful things you can do with it, routers are just not designed to do things like that, never have I ever had a stable "extra" running on any router.

Otherwise, can you stream media from it onto your PC?

My PC is connected to the network by cable, and i access the router like you would access any other computer's shared folders, and yes i can "stream" media from it (if  by stream you mean watch a movie using a media player). I don't do this that often, and i did not encounter any problems.
