2.5 alternatives

Hi guys

bit of an odd request but, on my laptop (lenovo e430) I have a 2.5 inch sata caddy replacement for my disk drive. i already have a big enough ssd in the laptop and I dont want a mechanical drive in it, are any other devices made that fit into a 12.7mm sata 2.5 inch drive slot?

This one has a activity LED for the HDD in the caddy, but if you find it too obnoxious you can unplug it(its pretty bright). Also, you will need to remove the bezel from your optical drive(this is a tedious task), but with patience and care(couldn't think of a word) you can remove it safely.

I think, he meant any device made to go into a sata bay as he's got the adapter?

 

As far as I'm aware there's nothing else that can go into a 2.5 inch bay, only 3.5 desktop sized ones are generally front facing and could be used for something.

 

The only things that can connect expressly to sata though are disk drives and storage drives.
