800 dollar build help.

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

the problem with actually going up is I'm already over my budget and could even use help with going down a bit in price and quality if I have

Ok not a problem. I got a bit carried away!

I suggest upgrading the CPU to a i5 4570k (4690k if you can afford it).

Change the motherboard to a ASRock H81M (Much cheaper but a solid, reliable motherboard)

This is allowing for future upgrades and, in a couple years, you will be able to just upgrade the graphics card and will therefore be able to leave the CPU, PSU and motherboard.

1. Budget & Location: my budget is 800$ and I'm from the United states.

2. Aim: mostly gaming some triple A and some free games. Along with Skype and youtube sometimes the three together.

3. Monitor: doesn't need to be included in the budget it will have its own budget.

4. Peripherals: also their own budget

5.why I'm upgrading: I want to build a pc and I just need a good gaming pc.

Okay, I would like to start with it can be an AMD build or an INTEL build. I won't be in need of an optical drive. This is the build I came up with so far but it's about 100 dollars over budget. also I would like some constructive criticism as to the build I've came up with. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bottleneck/saved/7h7Zxr

okay I've edited my post.

Rather than spending £137.99 ($207.86) on a locked 4460, I recommend spending a little more on an i5 4690k as it's slightly better all around not to mention the great overclocking potential it has to offer, adding to the 'futureproofness' of the build.

Other than that the build looks great. For more performance maybe get an R9 290 or wait for AMD to release their 300 series cards as they will likely offer a large performance increase over the 200 series cards.

Upgrade ideas for the future:

Samsung 840 Pro SSD

Thanks for your help. I think I decided to go with this build.http://pcpartpicker.com/user/bottleneck/saved/bdbdnQ. A bit over budget but I think it should do fairly well for a first build.
