PCI simple communications controller win8.1

0x8CBA    PCI Simple Communications Controller    0x8086    Intel Corporation

This is generally the "Intel Management Engine", it's part of the chipset drivers.

What motherboard make and model is it? You'll either need to download the driver from the motherboard manufacturer's website, or direct from Intel.

Hi, new to forums and sorry if this has been posted before.

Long story short, my stupid router gave an android phone the same IP as a printer, my printer only having static IP settings, went a bit stupid. So I had to reconfigure my printer and reinstall the drivers (it's quite old but works with windows 8 surprisingly). Little did I know, that windows 8 doesn't have Ad-hoc in the networking settings page or whatever you want to call it. So I had to use CMD to create an ad-hoc network to change my printers settings etc.

Then, after disabling the ad-hoc network and "removing" all the settings, I had a few issues with my ethernet, wifi and bluetooth (which I use all of them) so I just reinstalled all the drivers rather than spending hours trying to figure out the problem.

After going through device manager, a few "unknown devices" were not installed, so I took to the internet *cough* Google, and apparently I needed to reinstall my chipset drivers as well.

After doing all this,

one is still not installed, PCI simple communication controller.

I have reinstalled audio drivers as well, external hard drives and a SD card reader.

Does anyone have an idea on what this could be?

Everything seems to be working fine, but it just annoys me that something, somewhere is not installed properly.

Please do not diss windows 8, It works completely fine with Start Is Back, and as longs you don't pull out your rigs power cable (while shutting down) instead of something else, a silly 40KB boot file will not disappear and force you to reinstall windows 8.

Thanks,

Bobby

Oh okay, I'll try and download the drivers from intel.

I did reinstall the drivers from Asus, but that hasn't worked.
