hi guys,

I already purchased the following:

290X

FX-6300

MSI 970 Gaming MB

4 hard drives *2tb + 1tb + 500gb + 1tb

1 ssd

Hyper 212

the cpu will be OCed to 4.4/4.5ghz depending on my chance of binning

I believe a 750W PSU is not enough for this config right? 300W for the GPU and 300w minimum to 4.5ghz fx 6300. plus all the hard drives. What PSU should I get? I don't have many options. But I could get the Silent Pro Gold 800W, would this be enough? or should I go for 850 or even 1000?

Thanks in advance.

CPU: Ryzen 7-3700x 4.4GHz, MB: ASUS PRIME B450M-AGPU: SAPPHIRE RX 590, RAM: 16GB Corsair 3200MHz, SSD: 480GB Kingston HDD: 2TB WD Green, CHASSIS: CoolerMaster HAF 912, PSU: CoolerMaster Thunder 700W, COOLERHyper 212 Black Edition

750W would be plenty for this build, but you could go a little overkill if you want slightly more efficiency and silent operation

Apparently, the normal setup would be something like this I guess, at least that's CM's calculator at:

http://www.coolermaster.outervision.com/PSUEngine2

But the 4.5GHz OC consumes around 320W TDP on the FX, I am adding another 200W on top of 576W = 776Watts would be in total when on full load I guess. I don't plan to OC the GPU which I never do. So if we think about it like this, a 850W should be OK, not a 750W one. But then again, a 1000W would be much better for the long run, silent operation and efficiency of the PSU. This was my take on the issue. Thanks again guys.
