Anyone experience with freelancing websites?

Hi all,

 

 

I was wondering does anyone have experience with freelancing websites such as freelancer.com or elance.com? Is it something worthwhile to try, what are your experiences with them?

 

I have seen that a lot of the work is undercut and can be difficult to get quality clients.

I have an Uncle who holds a ridiculously high position in London for a very well known company, and he suggested that I check out elance.com. He said it proved to be a very valuable resource to him and that I might have use for it.

I got a translating job at odesk.com, the job was delayed until February but so far it looks fine.
