My brand new PC I just built was working fine. it ran for over a day to download some big games and then today I played a bit of skyrim on it.  Then I opened up another game (kingdoms of amalur) and the PC shut down completely.  It wouldn't turn back on until I reset the power bar I have connected into the wall.  What do you think?

Did you build it? Either way it's worth checking that the 24pin cable connecting the Power Supply to the Motherboard has not come loose. Also check the other vital cables such as the 4 Pin CPU cable located near the CPU socket, has not come loose.

Keep an eye on the temperature of the components using software such as CPU-Z for the CPU and MSI Afterburner for the graphics card (if you have one that's dedicated). Anywhere from 50-80 degrees is usually considered fine when the PC is under load.

At this stage it's hard to say, but if the issue continues then the Power Supply may be faulty (or another component). In which case further troubleshooting will be necessary. :)
