Ethernet not recognized anymore! Help!

After restarting my router and then using ethernet for ~ 15 mins, i automatically switched to wifi for some odd reason. I quickly checked to see if i still had an ethernet connection to my router and all seemed fine. However when going into the control panel i noticed something weird. My ethernet connection was being identified wrongly (but it was still identified).

here is a picture of the problem:

I tried this with both my onboard ethernet ports and they both yeilded the same results.

Some help with issue would be greatly appreciated.

Update 1: My brother, who is in the room next to mine, also seems to be having the same problem. He has a pcie wifi card so he too can still use the internet but this is a weird and annoying phenomenon.

If you still haven't gotten it figured out, you could try reinstalling your network card drivers, resetting the router/modem again, or reinstalling Windows.

tried all those.

BUT, turns out a mouse (or something) ate a little of the cable going up from the modem to the router :P replaced that and it's working just fine.
