How do I ip kvm?

Recently one of the server I've been renting had crashed and can't get back up on its own. I've been controlling it via RDP and that had worked out fine but now since it can't restart on its own I need to IP KVM except I don't know how. The company has provided me with and ip address to connect to and a username and password but I don't know what client to use or how to even configure it. I heard it matters what type of server you have and it says its an HP Proliant. I'd like help asap please as they said the ip kvm will be taken out in 24 hours. Thanks.

Hi,

So I am guessing that the kvm console is an HP. HP has a software which is a viewer. You can manage the KVM console from the web browser type https://(your up here). Then enter the user name and password.

After much fiddling I figured I would try to just enter the address directly into a web browser and that had worked and got me into the ip kvm however it says there is no video after downloading the kvm software from the ip they had provided.

What browser are you using?

Have you check with them about the server being plugged into the KVM?

google chrome at the moment. It had me download some java applet named spider.jnlp. Also I managed to get it to show video just briefly and got back into the OS but soon after I think it had crashed again and I'm back at step one with no video.

Have you turned the server off. Then waited a few minuets and started it up?

Well, I had actually contacted them about that in the first place. Before that I had tried to remote power off the server and remote power it back on but it didn't even power off according to its status.

What are you running? just a normal os on a HP?

I got windows 2008 r2 enterprise on it(thanks to dreamspark program and my college).

edit found out google chrome wasn't sending out the commands correctly most of the time so I'm now using firefox to send the remote powering right now. Hopefully it works.
