I've got my i5 4670k at 4.1 GHz without increasing voltage at all. I'm stress testing it now but I just wanted to know if this is good. Should I leave it at this or should I change the voltage and overclock further. I did it with both the bios and Intel extreme tuning utility and I scored 819 marks with 56 degrees Celsius as my highest temperature.

Also just a little side question. Both Windows 7 system and Nvidia GeForce experience under "my rig" show your CPU along with it's clock speed. For example "core i5 4670k @ 3.4 GHz" - will this ever update to my overclock speed? Lol, I just want to be able to see 4.1 GHz instead of 3.4

That seems pretty good. Make sure you have a good CPU cooler though.

use cpuz to verify your cpu speed is at 4.1, dont use task manager or geforce experience to measure core frequency they are inaccurate and unreliable.  put load on your cpu with a stress test and look in cpuz to make sure your at 4.1. 

 

 

when you say stock voltage do you mean you left the vcore value at "auto"

 

if left at "auto" it may be increasing your voltage automatically to compensate for your 41x.

It could be I guess but if I try to go higher it blue screens so I don't think it increased it. Also I'm not using task manager or Nvidia GeForce experience. I'm using extreme tuning utility. I just wanted to know if your speeds will update when it shows you processor in those applications.

it will for sure increase if your cpu is at 100% load or you disable eist in the bios.

 

load defaults run stress test monitor voltage

 

then load up your 4.1oc. see if the voltage is the same as it was at stock speeds

Okay, and should my core cache speeds be the same as my core clock speeds (41x)? Also it passed the stress test @ 4.1 GHz.

it is ideal to run cache at a 1:1 ratio if you can. its entirely possible at 4.1ghz

Cache doesn't improve performance and only causes instability.

 

When I set my cache to min=38, max=38, adaptive voltage = 1.050, thats when my core overclocking really took off.

 

My i5-4670k is also a tremendous overclocker, I was able to undervolt and overclock.  I currently run 4.2Ghz @ 1.060v, with the cache settings shown above.
