- GPU: xfx amd r9 280

- RAM: 8gb crucial ballistix

- Mobo: Asrock b85m pro4

- HDD: 1tb seagate

For your power supply, here are the numbers i calculated for maximum usage:

  • CPU: 84 W TDP (you can design to 1.5x...126 W but 84 should cover the nominal situation)
  • Memory: 5 W per stick (10 W in your case)
  • Motherboard: 45-90 W (this one is a bit more difficult to determine, if all else fails, go with 90W)
  • Graphics Card: 375 W (on board (75W) + 2x 8pin (150W))
  • Cooling: 20 W (4 x 5 W for case and cpu fans)
  • HDD: 5 W (1 TB)

So, if you take those values, you get about 626 W at max load (at nominal, you would see about 260-280 W).

My personal preference is to design or the max values and ensure good efficiency at nominal. However, if you care about just the nominal, if you rarent going to be taxing the system, then go with something a bit smaller. However, I would recommend a 600-650 W.

As for whether it would work, right out of the box, i would say yes in terms of voltage but no if you need different plugs.
