Upgrading to an SSD

I just bought an SSD and now I'm waiting for it in the mail, but I'm wondering if there's any way to move to it without wiping everything on the drives that I already have. Would it be possible to install windows onto the SSD, then just delete the windows files on the old drive, while keeping everything else? Or is there some software that can migrate only certain programs and folders?

I would say a clean install is always best, take off the old drive what you need like pics, mp3's etc, wipe it and use it as a backup or overflow
