AMD vs Nvidia in After Effects

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

i just want the truth though  :(

There are some Nvidia-specific acceleration features in AE but none for AMD.

If those features aren't being used, AMD's OpenCL is often a few tiers ahead of Nvidia.

Heyo! (First post!!)

I have a friend that after being newly introduced into the PC world is finding it hard to choose whether A} to choose AMD or  B} to choose Nvidia

His requirements were simple and pretty average until it came to the point where he was asking about editing video in Adobe AfterEffects and what company would be better for the situation.

Me only knowing the gaming sides of things, not needing to delve into CUDA and OpenGL. And that why I'm here now, to ask the LTT community if they have any wisdom to share on the situation.

He only has enough money for a mid-tier card.

Also if you guys have any info if its better to get an i5, save money get a better card, an i7, or just go with a FX-8300 series chip would be spectacular too!

Oh and please no biases
