Upgrading from Win 7 to 8

Go to solution Solved by NUFCThomas,

The reason is because I want to buy win 8 upgrade rather than full version

don't even think you can buy those anymore, if you can your windows 7 key will expire

Why would you ever want to do that?

EDIT: It's called downgrading from windows 7 to windows 8

and how is it downgrading? windows 8 gives fps boost very slightly over windows 7 and the metro UI isnt the best but it isnt that bad

Will a upgrade from win 7 to win 8 free up my 7 key?

yep

I've had windows 8.1 for about a year, then it died, then I reinstalled it, then it died, etc (multiple drives used on 2 different systems).  My windows 7 pc from 2009 has never had a problem.

Go for it.  (would suggest using the mod from ninite windows 8 mod because it just makes it look like windows 7)
