Hi everyone, so I wanted to build my own PC for quite some time now and finally have the time, means and motivation to do it. I already did a bit of preliminary research this summer and have been debating my choice for some parts as the year moved on. The budget for the whole thing is in the $1000-1200 range and I live in the US.

The main purpose for this build is gaming, but also be able to do basic video editing and rendering. I'm currently using just one 1080p monitor, but am planning on upgrading to 2 or 3 sometime in the not near future.

Here are my parts so far http://pcpartpicker.com/user/watertank/saved/dqnG3C

Now is there any reason for me to go for the 4770k when the 4790k is practically the same price if not cheaper?

Also I heard the EVGA 970s didnt have a very good heat spreader design, what do you guys think the best 970 is in the same price range (and is it available :/)?

I am planning to overclock btw and do realize that I need a CPU cooler. I'll most likely be doing this in the near future tho and not right away and have already looked into coolers.

Feel free to comment and point out anything you see here that doesn't or might not work. The more suggestions I get, the better.

Thanks!

In my opinion the Asus gtx 970 strix and the gigabyte Gtx 970 g1 are the best

Asus gtx 970: best for if you want more silent

Gigabyte Gtx 970 g1: best for performance but has a triple fan setup so you might have to check your case

Overall all the 970 are relatively the same but are slightly different

Alright, so I updated my build guys. Decided to go with Gigabyte 970 card mainly for their fantastic IO, not to mention great cooling. As Goussy mentioned that didn't quite work with my case, but luckily NZXT have a bigger version that looks exactly the same :)

Also replaced the CPU like you guys suggested. Any other comments or suggestions?
