Test boot watercooled GPU off loop? :O

Hey guys,

 

I bought a HD 7990 with a swiftech komodo waterblock on it and want to test boot my build. I don't have the original cooler and would rather not build my loop (first time water cooler) first. Is it ok to get a post out of it (the cpu would be cooled) before cooling it?

ps. building a (modded) haf xb evo duel 240 rad loop. ill be posting a build log. I am a noob, but a handy noob;)

Not the best idea. You'd have to build the loop first or just build a small loop for the GPU and put a air cooler on the CPU so it's quicker.

Thanks! That's what I was guessing, but wanted to check first! I figure ill get the loop measured out and build it outside. then rebuild it

Positon a couple fans so that they blow cool air directly on to the card and you should be fine .
