Would my CPU be a bottleneck?

I'm considering upgrading my GTX 650TI to a 970. Would my i7-920 @4GHz be able to handle it, or would it be just a bottleneck. 

 

Also, I'm getting a mobo/CPU upgrade in approximately 4 months, so would it make any sense to upgrade my GPU already, or just put the money aside for now and wait for the other upgrades?

No bottle neck at all what so ever. you should be fine for a few gpu upgrades.

the i7 920 is a 4 year old chip, if you compare it to a new Haswell chip youre losing about 30-40% of performance per core just because of advances in technology. Games now still depend on having strong single core performance. That is why I think your CPU will hold back, or bottleneck a 870

You're fine, and you know what, you will not only notice a huge change when you get the 970, but you'll get another HUGE change when you change your CPU because of the little bottleneck, since its +cpu and whatever GPU power your current CPU might be holding back.

No you will be fine with a overclock but since you already have it OC'ed there shouldn't be a problem.
