hdmi cable causing problems when viewing videos

Right first of not sure if this is the right place to post, but anyway i have to monitors hooked up to my gpu 270x 4gb, one is a 27 inch 1440p monitor (dvi) and the other is a 32 inch TV (hdmi).

My problem is when watching videos on either monitor results in the 27 inch going mad, a brown screen with all sorts of funky multi coloured lines all over it if i stop the video sometimes it goes away but other times i have to hard reset and then its fine.

Here's the kicker though after messing about with the hdmi cable at the pc end i got a shock from the connector i wasn't sure though so left it for a month or so with the problem happening completely randomly.

Until today when it happened again so i unplugged the hdmi cable again, and let it rest against the case were you can see it zapping the metal surface.

I never had the problem when it was just the 32 inch monitor (I was using a different hdmi cable at the time) then i got the 27 inch and only had that plugged in till i could get a longer hdmi cable, and when I did well you can guess what started happening.

Anyway so what seems to be happening is my tv is sending power through the hdmi to my gpu causing all hell to break loose.

I have tried all hdmi ports on the tv and only have one on the gpu and if it matters the hdmi cable is a Amazon basics high speed with Ethernet.

I guess I'm just going to have to swap out the cable for something else ??? And i guess I'm asking your thoughts on this i didn't think hdmi cables carried power ????
