Do I need a speed controller?

Go to solution Solved by Excon,

Oh wow, Performance PCs  has the variable one for 75$, are they a pretty reputable site? I've never ordered with them before.

Yes, it is one of the most reputable if not the most. Definitely go for that

MCP655TM (with speed pump) $108 vs MCP655-B (locked at speed 4) $85.

Is it worth 30+ dollars? Also to get the speed version I will have to pay shipping, the non speed version is free.

Maybe look elsewhere? Not sure if youre in the US but look at PerformancePCs and FrozenCPU. You really only need to run the pump at speed 1 and while bleeding your loop flicking the pump from 1-5 quickly can help get stuck bubbles unstuck.
