laptop help!

My friend needs help picking a laptop..

It'll be used for general computing, and some light gaming.. probably free games

mostly will be used for homework, watching videos, movies, etc

 

budget is $500 canadian, can be a bit over, but not like $100 over..

 

I was thinking an i3 or we could go AMD with 6gb + ram? 500gb hard drive is fine with a 15 inch screen
