I have a Msi z87-g45 mobo and was thinking about getting a Pentium g3258 so I could overclock it but I read that some people needed to update the bios to overclock, and I really don't want to go through the trouble of updating the bios so I was wondering if anyone knows if I can overclock without updating bios. If I have to update the bios I will probably get an I5-4670k. Any help is appreciated

Ya the only reason I want the Pentium over an i5 is because I never really overclocked a cpu before and I wanted to mess around with it

you will probably need to updated the bios whatever cpu you get. you can overclock an i5 just as easy as a Pentium as long as you get a decent cooler.
